Overview
A Catalog groups related track records inside one Workspace. Tracks, uploaded assets, rights data, audits, and exports retain the Catalog association. CatalogIQOS does not move records between catalogs merely because you switch the active selection.
Before you begin
Confirm the Workspace and prepare a clear Catalog name. If the form offers label, library, territory, genre focus, or description fields, use values that describe the collection rather than an individual track.
Where to find it
Open New Catalog at /catalog/new, or use the catalog switcher’s New Catalog action when your role permits catalog management.
Step-by-step instructions
- Confirm the active Workspace in the application shell.
- Open /catalog/new and enter the Catalog name.
- Complete any visible label or library identity, territory, genre focus, and description fields.
- Review whether this Catalog should become the active or default selection when that option is shown.
- Save the Catalog and wait for the confirmation state.
- Verify the new Catalog in the catalog switcher before opening Spreadsheet Data Hub or Audio Import.
What happens next
The Catalog is available to authorized Workspace members. Spreadsheet imports and new audio-track creation use the active target Catalog selected in those workflows.
Best practices
Separate collections when ownership, administration, client access, or delivery purpose differs. Do not create duplicate catalogs solely to represent filters or releases that belong together.
Common problems
An import can land in an unexpected Catalog when the target selection was not reconfirmed. Read-only roles cannot create catalogs.
Troubleshooting
Return to /catalog, inspect the catalog switcher, and verify the Workspace. If the Catalog is missing, confirm creation permission and whether demo mode is active.
