Create your first Workspace

A Workspace is the organization, membership, permissions, settings, and entitlement boundary in CatalogIQOS. A Catalog is a music collection inside that Workspace. Creating a Workspace does not import tracks, and creating a Catalog does not create a second organization.

You must be signed in and permitted to create or administer Workspaces. Prepare the Workspace name, organization name, industry context, timezone, and preferred locale shown by onboarding. Plan labels during beta describe entitlements; billing status should not be treated as proof of a charge.

New users can use /onboarding. Existing authorized users can open Settings → Workspaces at /settings/workspaces; Workspace defaults are under /settings/workspace.

1. Choose Create Workspace from onboarding or Workspace settings.
2. Enter a recognizable Workspace name and the organization or company name requested by the form.
3. Select the industry or operating context that best matches the organization when that field is available.
4. Set the timezone used for activity and operational dates.
5. Select the locale used for Workspace-level defaults.
6. Review the displayed beta plan or entitlement; do not enter payment information unless billing is explicitly enabled.
7. Save the Workspace and confirm that it becomes active in the application shell.
8. Create the first Catalog when prompted, or open Catalog settings to do so later.

The Workspace becomes the container for catalogs, members, audit history, settings, and usage. The first Catalog may become the active default, but you can switch catalogs without moving their tracks.

Use an organization-level name, choose the actual operating timezone, and invite each teammate separately with the least-privileged appropriate role.

Users sometimes create a Workspace for every release instead of creating catalogs inside one Workspace. A disabled create action usually means the current role cannot administer Workspaces.

Open /settings/workspaces to confirm membership and the active Workspace. If a beta plan says pending billing, verify the beta notice before interpreting it as a failed payment.
